About the Artist:
I hold a degree in North Indian Classical music and am a gold medalist in Sangeet Visharad – Vocals. I started my formal training in music at the age of four under the guidance of my guru Shri Ishwarbhai Parekh.

In India, I have volunteered in schools as a music teacher and participated in numerous cultural programs.

After immigrating to the United States, I started missing my country India, where I was raised. This inspired me and soon the flashes of Indian memories shaped into wonderful songs about the country and its culture. The pages of my notebook started to fill up with my own compositions.
     
About the CD:

 During my visit to India in December 2004, I recorded a CD in Gujarati (one of the regional languages of India), titled Navi Vahurani under the music arrangement and direction of Manish Patel.  Navi Vahurani means
New Bride in Gujarati. There are eleven tracks in the cd which is a collection of my best original Gujarati wedding songs. 

I presented the CD to my brother and his wife on their wedding occasion. The photo on the CD cover is taken by me of the New Bride of our family and thus the CD holds a sentimental value to me.
